Duncan Johnston-Watt Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Duncan is a serial entrepreneur and industry visionary with over twenty years experience in the software industry. Immediately prior to founding Cloudsoft, Duncan was CTO at Enigmatec Corporation, the enterprise data center automation company he founded in 2001. Enigmatec was sold to iWave which was subsequently acquired by EMC.

A Computerworld Smithsonian Laureate for his pioneering work introducing Java Enterprise to financial services, Duncan holds an MSc in Computation from Oxford University and a BA in Mathematics and Philosophy from Leeds University.

 

Andrew ParsliffeChief Financial Officer

Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from Cranfield.

He has extensive experience in senior financial roles with SSE plc and St Gobain. He has CFO experience in AIM and SME businesses. He has sector experience in Telecoms, Energy, Construction, Financial Services and IT.

 

Alex HeneveldCo-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Alex brings twenty years experience designing software solutions in the enterprise, start-up, and academic sectors.

Most recently, Alex was with Enigmatec Corporation where he led the development of what is now the Monterey® Middleware Platform™. Previous to that, he founded PocketWatch Systems, commercialising results from his doctoral research.

Alex holds a PhD (Informatics) and an MSc (Cognitive Science) from the University of Edinburgh and an AB (Mathematics) from Princeton University. Alex was both a USA Today Academic All-Star and a Marshall Scholar.

 

Ross GrayVP, Sales & Marketing

Ross has over 12 years’ experience in Enterprise IT Business Development and previously was Senior Account Manager at Proact, a managed cloud services provider and data storage integrator.

Prior to that Ross was Business Development Consultant in the Enterprise Systems business unit of CACI Ltd.

Ross holds an MA in Politics and Modern History from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Marketing from Strathclyde University.

 

Aled SageVP, Engineering

Aled brings 17 years of experience developing distributed applications, mostly in the enterprise sector. Particular areas of interest include devops, automation, cloud, concurrency and distributed systems.

Prior to joining Cloudsoft, Aled was Chief Architect at Enigmatec Corporation.

He holds a PhD (Computer Science) from the University of St Andrews.

 

Murdo AirdVP, Operations

Murdo has 20 years of experience in the industry and has operated successfully in a wide range of roles.

Having built and managed mid-sized development and operations teams to operate in markets and technologies that were new to them, Murdo understands the importance of appropriate training, guidance and knowledge that is required to enable teams to move quickly yet be self-sustaining.

Leading the service delivery for a SaaS product, Murdo is experienced in understanding the importance of meeting SLAs, repeatable processes, application management and monitoring.

Derek GrayCo-Founder & Non-Executive Director

Derek was the founding non-executive chairman of Cloudsoft from its inception until June 2015.

Derek is an investor in early stage technology companies and is on the Advisory Board of Pentech Ventures. He has served as a non-executive director and advisor to several software companies and was formerly an Executive Vice President with Adobe Systems Inc.

 

Bill DobbieNon-Executive Director

Bill is an experienced entrepreneur and director specialising in internet, telecoms and technology businesses.

Bill has been a director of Demon Internet, Prestel, Teledata, Scottish Telecom (Thus), AboveNet Inc. and several other companies. Bill has been the co-founder of two public companies Iomart (LSE:IOM) and CoreTx plc (LSE: COR) where he is still a Director. Bill was also the co-founder of Maxymiser Inc. recently sold to Oracle. Bill actively manages a portfolio of private investments including Cloudsoft Corporation, LendingCrowd, Houseology and Tag-Games.
