Join experts from AWS, Cloudsoft and, leading FinTech, Origo to talk about cloud migration where we’ll equip you with practical advice for preparing, planning and migrating applications to AWS. The first 20 guests that register and attend will receive a Digital Brewgooder Gift Card* worth £24.95 (or 12 beers plus UK shipping). Brewgooder is the Craft Beer on a mission to bring clean water to 1 million people.
We invite you to join us for two presentations, followed by a fireside chat and Q&A where you can get involved in the conversation. We’ll explore the business case of moving to the cloud, challenges and solutions, and real-world customer experiences.
Who is the virtual meetup for?
The meetup is aimed at people with an interest in cloud migration for enterprise. Whether you are still figuring out your cloud strategy, have a few “beachhead” deployments, or are already running and optimising applications in the cloud: we will share pitfalls to avoid when migrating and best practices to help you.
- Business leaders responsible for defining cloud strategy and managing this transformation across the enterprise.
- Technology leaders looking for best practices, patterns and processes for cloud migration and for building strong and reliable cloud environments.
- Application developers and IT administrators looking to migrate applications to AWS, and to subsequently operate and modernise those applications.
Our speakers bring a wealth of experience in adopting the AWS platform for critical business workloads, and a variety of perspectives on: defining a strategy, choosing concrete approaches for specific workloads, and performing actual migrations with minimal risk.
Ricardo Sueiras, enterprise evangelist at AWS, will talk about cloud adoption, especially how enterprises define and execute their overall strategies.
Aled Sage, VP Engineering at Cloudsoft, will present specific approaches for migrating applications to the cloud. He will focus on legacy apps, common pitfalls and best practices.
Peter Deak, Development Manager at Origo, will join the fireside chat to talk about Origo’s experience moving to AWS. Peter will share his thoughts on cloud adoption, including on the use of cloud-native and serverless architectures at Origo.
Alasdair Hodge, Principal Engineer at Cloudsoft, will once again be our host for the meet-up.
The Cloud Pathway events belong to everyone who joins the meetup. If you’d like a particular topic discussed, have an idea or thought you would like to share, or even general feedback it would be great to hear from you.
We look forward to having you join us!
