Working From Home: a team challenge for a good cause

This month we're challenging our team get out from behind their desks and cover 1000 miles by foot, cycling, swimming or any other non-motorised means! We're aiming to raise £1000 for Edinburgh-based social enterprise Social Bite to break the cycle of homelessness.

The Social Bite Villages provide transitional housing and support to people experiencing homelessness to help them get their lives back on track. You may also have sampled their excellent brownies and toasties in their cafe on Edinburgh's Rose Street, where they employ homeless and formerly homeless people.

The challenge: 1000 miles to raise £1000

We've split our participating colleagues into two competing teams of 6. Each team has to rack up 500 miles of activity in April and we'll be tracking our progress on a weekly basis. Make sure to follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn for updates on our progress!

About Social Bite

Unfortunately, the current approach to homelessness in the UK does not work. Using temporary accommodation such as hostels and B&Bs does not provide people with the stability and the support that they need to escape a life characterised by destitution and exclusion.

The Village is an innovative, community-based accommodation project that is designed to help people build a better life. The environment helps to equip them with the skills they need to be able to sustain their own, long-term tenancies, secure stable employment, and re-join  society.
